IT'S THE FIRST OF ITS KIND -The unveiling of the new Chasuble for Queen of Angels was planned by parishioners to help inspire the Community to know Mary, who leads us to Christ. Once a year, the statue is brought out during the week of August 22nd. It was the Very Rev. Brian P. Dowd VF, who continues encourage his Lay Leadership to develop the Mission of the Parish from her name, and made sure the statue is seen during the whole month of May for the Crowning of Mary, and the month of August for the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. This statue is unique. The artist, Bishop Denning, wanted her to have angel wings. A mystery to the leadership, and historians from the Diocese, there is no written account for Bishop Denning to imagine Mary in this way. Inspired by this image, her name, history, and our Pastor's interpretation of our Mission, a group of donors had these two custom made chasubles produced - one for our Pastor, and one for our Parish.
