Message from our Pastor - Queen of Angels prepares for Covid 19


QUEEN OF ANGELS CHURCH Sunnyside, NY - In an effort to be proactive in our response to the spread of the Covid 19 Virus, Public celebrations of weekday Masses, the Saturday Vigil Mass, and the Sunday Masses, are cancelled beginning Monday, March 16th. All Classes, Programs, Ministries, and Groups that use the Rectory, Parish  Auditorium, & Parish Center are canceled, until further notice.

TV & Social Media: For those who have Social Media,
Queen of Angels will provide Weekday and Sunday Masses
Online through our Website, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, & Blogger (Angelicus News). Click ONLINE MASS to go to the page.
Use the links and QR Codes (In the Parish) to stay connected. All
Mass intention will be offered. Contact the Rectory
Office if you need a Mass Intention at 718-392-0011.

 The Diocese of Brooklyn provides the Celebration of the 
Mass on TV or the Internet through NET-TV; Spectrum 
Chan. 97), Optimum (Chan. 30); and FIOS (Chan. 48).

Schedule: Saturday at 6PM (Eng); Sunday at 11AM (Eng)   & 1:30PM (Span)

For Funerals, Weddings, Baptisms, Quinciñeras, or appointments for Confessions, contact the Rectory Office.

We encourage the faithful to keep the Lord’s Day by  maintaining a prayerful attitude and through personal family prayer.

The health of all the faithful of the Diocese and our parish  is of utmost concern, so let us continue to pray to the Lord  Who is a healer to protect us and bring about quickly an  end to this present crisis. Queen of Angels, pray for us.

On Sunday, June 21st, Fr. Dowd announced to the public during Sunday Mass that Msgr Jonas Achacoso will be leaving Queen of Angels Parish for his new assignment as the Pastor of Corpus Christi in Woodside NY. We are proud of this announcement. We wish Msgr. Achacoso our prayers, and support.

Msgr. Achacoso wrote to the Parishioners in this weeks Bulletin:

"'Swift fly the years' in the words of a poet. At the end of my ministry in Queen of Angels, I thank everyone who has made those years fly so quickly because I was truly having fun as I enjoyed so much kindness, generosity and friendship with the parishioners. I started coming to this parish from the summers of 2007 to 2013. Then I was as part-time parochial vicar from 2014 to 2020. So, it’s a total of 14 years of my life from which I treasure so many happy memories. Queen of Angels and Sunnyside has been and will be a home for me. UPDATE! Prayers for our Pastor

PRAYERS FOR OUR PASTOR - Many of our parishioners have heard of the news that our Pastor, Very Rev Brian P. Dowd, experienced a heart attack in 2016. On Wednesday, May 29th, Fr. Brian went into the Hospital to prepare for Bypass Surgery. The operation took place on Monday, June 3rd.

We want to inform you all that Fr. Brian is doing GREAT!  Here is a message from the Pastor: 

I want to thank God, Queen of Angels, my family, our parishioners, and the Sunnyside Community for your Mass offerings & intentions, prayers, and well wishes for a speedy recovery. Know that I am grateful  for you, and I will offer my prayers for you and your family. May Queen of Angels, pray for you!
