Resource for the Needy: For those who live in Deanery Q2

Deanery Q2 provides resources for the homeless and needy families of Sunnyside & Woodside, New York. We also give to those in need outside of our Deanery. Here is a listing and details of Parishes, and Organizations:

CHURCHES

CLICK ON QUEEN OF ANGELS CHURCH:
- Invites Parishioners and Neighbors to participate in their Food Drive Collection, every 3 Sunday of the Month, and during the Month of November.
- We take up a collection, and sometimes receive supplies for Countries experiencing Natural Disasters
- We collect donations for Children, Single Woman, and Families in need. (Pampers, Milk, baby and children clothing, etc)
- We collected medical supplies and equipment (Canes, Crutches, Wheel Chairs, etc)
- We collect toy for children during the Advent Season.
- We bring food and toiletry items for Day Laborers every month.
- We collect toiletry, and other items during the Lenten Season.
- We take up a collection during Lent called the "Rice Bowl", to help the needy in different countries.

- Invites Parishioners and Neighbors to participate in their Food Drive Collection.
- Provides food for needy families. Every Thursday from 10:30AM to 12PM, and Every Saturday from 1:30PM to 3PM

CLICK ON ST. TERESA: (With St Vincent de Paul & Catholic Charities)
- Invites Parishioners and Neighbors to participate in their Food Drive Collection.
- Provides food for needy families. Every Tuesday from 3PM to 4PM
- Collects used books to sell - All funds go to needy families who need resources.
- Collects clothing for the needy - Visit their Parking lot to place Clothing in Drop Box.
- Provide support to families with resources in difficult times. (Must call to make an appointment).

- Invites Parishioners and Neighbors to participate in their Food Drive Collection.
- Provides food for needy families. Every Wednesday from 11AM to 1PM

OTHER ORGANIZATIONS

- Collects toiletry for the Homeless and Migrant Workers.

- Collects clothing for the Homeless.

- Provides food for needy families. Every Monday, & Thursday from 3:30PM to 6PM

MASS BOOK 2021-2022 : On Wednesday, September 8th, the Mass book for September 2021 to August 2022, will be open for intentions. An individual may ask to offer a Mass intention for several reasons: for example, in thanksgiving, for the intentions of another person living or deceased (such as on a birthday or anniversary), or, as is most common, for the repose of the soul of someone who has died. When we face the death of someone, even a person who is not Catholic, to have a Mass offered for the repose of his soul and to offer our prayers are more beneficial and comforting than any other sympathy card or bouquet of flowers. To have a Mass offered on the occasion of a birthday, anniversary or special need is appropriate, beneficial and appreciated. You many stop by the rectory during office hours to make these arrangements. The Stipend for each is as follows: Masses - $15; Bread & Wine - $25; Sanctuary Candles - $25; Altar Flowers - $50; Purgatorial Society - $25 Remember...#WeAreQ

Every One Will Call Her Blessed... Unveiling the Queen of Angels Chasuble

IT'S THE FIRST OF ITS KIND -The unveiling of the new Chasuble for Queen of Angels was planned by parishioners to help inspire the Community to know Mary, who leads us to Christ. Once a year, the statue is brought out during the week of August 22nd. It was the Very Rev. Brian P. Dowd VF, who continues encourage his Lay Leadership to develop the Mission of the Parish from her name, and made sure the statue is seen during the whole month of May for the Crowning of Mary, and the month of August for the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. This statue is unique. The artist, Bishop Denning, wanted her to have angel wings. A mystery to the leadership, and historians from the Diocese, there is no written account for Bishop Denning to imagine Mary in this way. Inspired by this image, her name, history, and our Pastor's interpretation of our Mission, a group of donors had these two custom made chasubles produced - one for our Pastor, and one for our Parish.
